Are foods labeled "natural" really natural?
Is it true when it says No trans fats?
Sugar free?
No preservatives?
Let me ask you this....if someone tells you to consume tapeworms because you will lose weight and look great would you??? actually let me not use that example because someone actually did and died within three months----however she did lose all the weight she wanted.
Do not believe it!!! RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH ----- and not just one harvard study but a variety of resources.
There are NO FEDERAL GUIDELINES governing the use of natural. Foods labeled natural can still containes preservatives, additives and much more. Sometimes if you read closesly in the back of whatever you are purchasing may say 90% natural ingredients ---- so what the heck is the rest doing to me ?!!?!
Also there are no guidelines to which ingredients we have to keep out --- and you do NOT have to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth!! Came as a shocker to me in my associates degreee nutrition/dietetic program. We found out because we are in the program but what about everyone else who does not research and trusts what is on our shelves?
OKay okay this one is beyond crazy----- No trans fats---- you turn the can/box around and BAM!!! in the ingredients it says partially hydrogenated vegetable oil----funny that is a trans fat! As Judge Judy would say ," Thats bologna!"
Sugra free? you turn over the label, BAM!!!!! another trick? high fructose corn syrup, fructose, dextrose, honey (probably fake honey), sugar alcohols or other chemical sweeteners providing 19g of sugar/carbohydrate per Tablespoon!!
No preservatives? no please, please dont tell me could it be----another trick? another lie? YES!!!! No preservatives means there are no artificial prerservatives but there could be artificial flavors and colors that are allowed-----you really have to read in between the lines!!!
Also ---- since many are not aware---- the ingredient list goes by how much is in the product. So it goes from highest to lowest----so if you pull out your peanut butter jar and in the ingredients it lists ---- high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated vegetable oil, salt and peanuts----- then you mostly have sugar, then the wrong fat , more salt and less peanuts---this is what i call FAKE peanut butter.... do you know how to make real peanut butter? You take peanuts and put it in your processor for 3-5 minutes and it turns into peanut butter (natural fat oils inside) ---- So real peanut butter when you read the ingredient listing should say peanuts or peanuts and salt.
This is just to make you aware----everything in moderation!!! You do not have to live in a bubble but if you are aware you know to not do it everyday. Some people eat out all day everyday for 20 years adding preservatives, additives, colorings, metals, toxins, medicine and stuff we can not even pronounce---to their bodies and it just piles up---then when they are sick or something is wrong they sit and wonder whats up? whats scary is that many will not even consider it is something they have been putting in their temple. We all want to live life and eat what it has to offer just do it in moderation so that you can live a long, healthy, not expensive (all your money going into healthcare or medications etc.), pain free, reliable to yourself kind of life!!!
SMALL CHANGES YIELD BIG RESULTS!!!!!!!
